I remember when I heard the news: that Sherlock was dead.

I was about to go to a friend’s house, and my mum mentioned that ‘that detective guy you like’ had died.

I turned around to ask which detective guy, but I already knew.

I felt sick.

‘Sherlock Holmes’

The room began to swirl. I thought I was going to faint!

I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t, at first. I thought it was some sort of joke. But it was all over the internet, in the newspapers, on the TV…

It was horrific: Sherlock Holmes: A Fraud. A coward, who’d committed suicide to escape his fate once the news had been leaked.

No. I wouldn’t believe it. I couldn’t. He wasn’t a fraud, he wasn’t a coward.

I did a lot of crying that day.

Hm, I never did make to see that friend.

A group of protestors arrived at New Scotland Yard today after it was announced that Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade, who enlisted the help of shamed Consulting Detective Sherlock Holmes on numerous occasions, was to go in for questioning. Many believe that the Detective Inspector will be sacked for his entanglements with Holmes. The protestors, who are part of the mass movement of Holmes Faithfuls, or Sherlockians, hope that Lestrade will be spared.

“He’s kept London streets safe, both with and without Sherlock,” says one protestor, Miss Mary Turner, “they both saved my life in Boscombe. Lestrade believed in Sherlock Holmes, he was a smart man. He knew he was honest.”

The furor surrounding the detective’s suicide does not seem likely to slow down, and many are now beginning to wonder if this all happens to be true. The people believe, and with growing demonstrations and support showing through the streets of London, who knows what we are to expect. High Judges, the Right Honorable Moffat and Gatiss will judge the Detective Inspector on July 7th.

Is this true? We certainly hope a good man won’t lose his job over these lies.

Hah! ‘Out of town’ for an unknown period of time? Contact Kitty Riley? How convincing, Moriarty.

Shocking. We’re sure we should definitely be getting our details from Kitty Riley of all people.
